Martinez: Murder Arrest Announced in March Incident

The Martinez Police Department announced the arrest of a 31-year-old for murder related to a March 15 incident in the City of Martinez.

According to police, in partnership with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, the Martinez Police Department arrested 31-year-old Martinez resident Kyle Daniels for murder, based on an arrest warrant.

Back on March 15, 2025, officers responded to Hale Court in Martinez for a report of an intruder at a residence. Officers arrived on scene and found 41-year-old Oakland resident Dual Moore, unconscious, with significant injuries. Dual Moore was transported to a local trauma hospital and later was pronounced deceased.

In the ensuing months, the Martinez Police Department Investigation Bureau conducted an in-depth investigation with support from the DA’s Office. The investigation resulted in Kyle Daniels being charged with one count of Penal Code section 187(a).

Kyle Daniels was arrested on September 25, 2025, and booked into the Sheriff’s Office Martinez Detention Facility.
