Join the American Foundation Suicide Prevention (AFSP) as it hosts the 10th Annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention walk in the City of Oakley.
This year marks a decade of hope, healing, and community support. As a community, the event aimed to raise awareness, fight stigma, and save lives. Participation in the 10th Annual Out of the Darkness Walk will not only honor the memory of those lost but also strengthen our shared mission to prevent suicide and support mental health.

- Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025
- Location: Civic Center Park, 3221 Main Street, Oakley, CA 94561
- Time: 8:00 AM check-in, opening ceremony begins at 9:00 AM, and walk begins at 9:30 AM
Special Offerings:
- Free Yoga sessions provided by YogaSix (7:00–8:00 AM in 15-minute increments)
- Morning refreshments including light snacks, coffee, and water
- Honor Bead ceremony
- Memorial garden
The event will offer a variety of activities for all ages, plus a meaningful Honor Bead Ceremony to recognize and honor those who’ve touched our hearts. This family-friendly, pet-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity to come together in a spirit of compassion and solidarity.
