Narcotics Investigation Results in Hazmat Response in Pittsburg

On Saturday, Contra Costa County Hazmat was dispatched to two locations within the City of Pittsburg.

Just after 5:00 pm, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to the 2000 block of Sward Drive for a report of a possible drug lab involving fentanyl. The incident prompted a HAZMAT call out for an investigation  By 8:10 pm, HAZMAT was dispatched to a second location in Pittsburg in the 300 block of Jimno Ave

Sunday Update via Pittsburg Police:

Yesterday, our Special Investigations Unit investigated a report of the sales of illegal drugs. During the investigation, detectives authored a search warrant for a house located on Seward Drive. Inside, detectives located suspected fentanyl.   Due to the concern of exposure, Con-Fire was contacted and ultimately initiated a HazMat incident call.  Con-Fire and HazMat deemed the scene safe for officer to continue the search of the house.  

During the investigation, detective authored a second search warrant for the house on Jimno Avenue, where additional suspected fentanyl was located. Con-Fire transitioned to Jimno Ave, where they assisted PPD officers in rendering the scene safe.  

No expose to officers or danger to the community occurred.  This is an active investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
