ANTIOCH, CA — In advance of the Halloween weekend and the Dia de los Muertos community event scheduled for this Saturday, November 1, 2025,  the City of Antioch and the Antioch Police Department want to reassure residents that public safety, for all members of our community, remains our top priority.

The Antioch Police Department will be present during events to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees. We are committed to serving and protecting all members of our community, regardless of immigration status.

Consistent with longstanding policy and California law, the Antioch Police Department:

  • Does NOT participate in ICE raids or federal immigration enforcement.
  • Does NOT ask individuals about immigration status for enforcement purposes.
  • Does NOT detain individuals for civil immigration violations.
  • Does NOT use state databases for immigration enforcement.
  • Will NOT question victims or witnesses about immigration status when reporting a crime.
  • Requires any federal immigration enforcement requests to go through a supervisor and only considers them in emergency situations.

“We want all residents to feel safe attending and participating in community events,” said Captain Bittner of the Antioch Police Department. “Our presence at city events is to ensure public safety, not to enforce immigration law.”

We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the event, knowing that your safety, rights, and dignity will be respected.

For questions or assistance, please contact the Antioch Police Department at (925) 778-2441 or visit www.antiochca.gov/police.
