On Thursday, Antioch High School announced its football team forfeited its game against Liberty due to code of conduct violations.
A video began circulating online showing a student on the ground in the locker room being kicked, water being poured on him, a helmet and other football equipment being thrown at him. The video ends when the coaches appear to be entering the area. Although unconfirmed, multiple sources claim the student is special needs. The video has since been deleted from the account that published it, multiple people have since sent the video to this publication.
In letter released on Thursday:
“While I am legally prohibited from sharing specific details about the incident, I can confirm that the matter involves a significant portion of the varsity football team
I understand that this decision will be disappointing, particularly for our student-athletes and their families. However, after careful consideration, the leadership teams of both the Antioch High School and Antioch Unified School District unanimously determined that this action was necessary. It reflects our commitment to accountability, personal responsibility, and the values we expect all students to uphold.”
The letter also said additional details about the disciplinary process cannot be provided, the forfeiture of the game represents only the first step into ensuring that the Code of Conduct is upheld.
Here is the letter that was released. No other information on the incident has been shared. It is unknown if local law enforcement is investigating the incident. Meanwhile, the Antioch Unified School District has offered no other information.


The incident comes as the Antioch Unified School District recognized the football program.
“In appreciation, the certificate reads, this certificate is proudly presented to Antioch High School Varsity Football and Deer Valley High School Varsity Football team in recognition of their valuable knowledge, service and recognition, we are honored to present this certificate for your outstanding performance of positive impact on the students of Antich unified School District in all that you do.”
