The San San Pablo Police Department reported that 7 armed robbery suspects have been arrested.
Accoridng to police, on September 9 at approximately 5:18pm, San Pablo Police Department officers responded to the 900 block of Trenton Boulevard on reports of an armed robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they learned that the victim had arranged a meeting to sell clothing items to an unknown buyer (suspect), via social media. As the buyer met with the victim for the clothing purchase, four additional masked suspects arrived and began physically assaulting the victim; during the incident, two suspects produced handguns, striking the victim several times. The suspects then stole the victim’s clothing sale items before quickly fleeing the scene on foot.
San Pablo Police Detectives quickly assumed the investigation, and began by utilizing San Pablo’s network of Public Safety Camera technology. After several weeks of extensive and diligent follow-up on investigative leads, SPPD Detectives were able to identify a total of seven suspects believed to be responsible for this violent crime.
Yesterday morning, with the assistance of numerous allied law enforcement agencies, SPPD officers served search warrants at seven different locations throughout Contra Costa County. As a result of this joint operation, all seven suspects (2 adults and 5 juveniles) were taken into custody without incident. Investigators also recovered two firearms and multiple items of stolen property related to the initial robbery.
The two adult suspects, identified as Damien Featherstone (18-years old, Richmond) and Denis Melendez (20-years old, Richmond), were booked at the Martinez Detention Facility on multiple charges including Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery, Accessory, and Conspiracy. Four juvenile suspects were booked at the Contra Costa Juvenile Hall on the same charges above, and one juvenile suspect was released to the custody of his guardians due to an unspecified medical condition.
