The Richmond Police Department announced it was investigating a homicide that occurred Monday morning in the City of Richmond.
According to police, on November 17, 2025, at approximately 5:55 a.m., the Richmond Police Department Communications Center received a ShotSpotter gunshot detection alert in the 1400 block of Bissell Avenue. Simultaneously, multiple callers reported hearing shots fired in the same area. Officers were immediately dispatched and located an adult victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RPD Homicide Detectives responded and have assumed the investigation.
