Pinole Police Make Felony Vandalism Arrest After July “Red Paint Rampage” Rant

Pinole Police announced the arrest of Todd Graybeal in connection with multiple vandalism incidents in July with messages aimed at city officials.

According to the Pinole Police Department investigated a series of vandalism incidents that occurred in the early morning hours of July 30, 2025, between 2:10 AM and 2:50 AM. Five locations were targeted, including four local businesses and one residence.  Surveillance footage and witness reports provided details about the suspect, who used red spray  paint to write a negative message directed at elected city officials.

Over the past several months,  investigators received tips regarding the suspect’s location and identity.

On November 17,  investigators acted on a community tip and arrested Todd Graybeal, 55, of Rodeo. He was booked  into the Martinez Detention Facility for felony vandalism.  The Pinole Police Department thanked the community members who came forward with  information and tips, which greatly assisted in investigating this series of vandalism.

The Pinole Police Department is actively investigating a series of vandalism incidents that occurred in the early morning hours of July 30, 2025, between 2:10 AM and 2:50 AM. A total of five locations were targeted, including four local businesses and one residential property.

Surveillance footage and witness information indicate the suspect is an unidentified white male, approximately in his 50s, with long brown hair and a gray goatee. He was seen wearing a burnt orange or red shirt and light-colored pants, and is believed to be driving a white minivan with missing wheel covers.

The suspect used red spray paint to write a negative message directed at elected city officials. At this time, the content of the message is being withheld to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

At this time there is no indication that the incidents are hate crime-related, gang-related, or associated with any threats of violence. No symbols or imagery suggesting such motives were observed at any of the scenes.

Investigators are currently reviewing video evidence and pursuing leads to identify and locate the individual responsible.
