Pittsburg Police Investigating Saturday Night Shooting

The Pittsburg Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left one victim in critical, but stable condition.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 11:30 pm Saturday where officers responded to a shooting in the north alleyway of Alturas Ave. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds as well as several witnesses. The victim was provided medical aide on scene and transported to a local trauma center where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

According to Chief Albanese detectives responded to the scene and a preliminary investigation shows a dispute between two groups of adult males who engaged in a verbal then physical altercation just prior to the shooting. Detectives are actively working the investigation with several promising leads.

No other information was released.

Note – it was initially reported as a person shot twice in the chest and during the incident, a law enforcement officer sustained a leg injury, however, neither detail was confirmed by police Sunday morning.
