24 Days of Contra Costa Businesses: Salt & Fig Marketplace

Salt & Fig

Located in downtown Brentwood, Salt & Fig Marketplace has something for everyone this holiday season. It is a unique store that adds value for the foodie to the entertainers to those simply looking for gift ideas, this shop helps set the tone for any event.  It’s mantra is embracing the heart of the home and it lives up to that by being unique and adding a personalized touch to each shopping experience.

According to Lenna Belleci, store owner, there’s nothing quite like this little store that also adds Brentwood specific merchandise such as coffee mugs, dish towels and more. She love serving our community and representing as much of Brentwood as she can while adding she enjoys Downtown Brentwood’s culture being one off the gateway stores leading into the agricultural community and so much more.

Since opening in April 2022, how have you evolved the shop?

I had planned the concept for a while before opening, but the store has pretty much stayed the same as we change out merchandise seasonal. In terms of evolving, you learn over time what people in the community want and so the items are more geared to what consumers are looking for versus what I think they want because there is now data behind it.

What can people expect this December in the store?

Over the years, I’ve been able to add more and more Christmas items from nearly 100 nutcrackers to plenty of holiday décor – this includes Christmas on the farm, classic and traditional, to whimsical to chic. Again, something for everyone and this includes holiday treats that are imported from Europe.

What do you hope people experience in the store?

Aside from the Christmas cheer and décor, we have a lot of food items that make great gifts and help raise the bar for any dinner party. From pastas to sauces, to spices to olive oil to popcorn there is something new to try. We keep it fun.

Supporting local vendors

It is important to me that we help our local cottage businesses and offer space for their products. If you can’t make it down to a local farm, we have jams, bread, sauces, salsa to other goodies that are locally produced

What is one thing you offer than many may not know?

We can help you create a basket of goodies for any occasion. Obviously, this time of the year it’s a Christmas gift basket but whether it’s a birthday, a congratulations basket, a care basket or just a celebration, we can put together a fun package for you.
