24 Days of Contra Costa Businesses: Clavo & Canela Café

by CC News
Antioch

A real nice addition to Downtown Antioch as a family owned Salvadoran restaurant serving wonderful food opened over the summer. With months to work out kinks and tweak the menu, Clavo & Cnaela Cafe is humming along producing wonderful meals.

Still, it’s the pupusas that will win you over as they now offer multiple flavors and a Tuesday special of 3 pupusas for $10. They also are playing around with a shrimp pupusa which is fantastic. Their breakfasts will win you over and their chicken club might be one of the best in the area for lunch.

Cafe owners Carla and Edwin Menjeivar says they came to Antioch 14 years ago and they wanted to bring their food to Antioch – family recipes that they say are in their hearts and want to bring it to the community with love.

Clavo & Canela Cocina – Café is located at 310 G Street, Antioch CA. For more information, photographs/videos of food, visit them on Instagram.

For more, here is the video from over the summer at the ribbon cutting.
