Antioch Police Investigating Stabbing on E 16th St.

Just before 8:00 am Sunday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on E 16th Street in the City of Antioch.

It was reported that at least one person had been stabbed inside a home who was not cooperative with law enforcement – this prompted Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and AMR to stage down the street.

A short time later, a female victim had left the home with undisclosed injuries and was in need of medical attention. Police later entered the home and took a male into custody before being treated with what appeared to be a stab wound. No information was released on scene by Antioch Police.

According to witnesses, the female had jumped a fence holding a knife seeking help saying the male in the house was attempting to harm her and would not let her leave the home for nearly a week. Police did not confirm this account.
