When it comes to wine in Contra Costa County, Serendipity Cellars in Brentwood is a must-try destination. With a lineup of fabulous wines and a stunning view of Mt. Diablo, the winery offers the perfect opportunity to get delightfully lost for an afternoon.

Looking ahead to 2026, winemaker Bryan Lucay has some exciting releases on the horizon that are poised to elevate the region’s wine game—but more on that early next year.

For now, as we head into the holiday season, Serendipity Cellars offers several standout bottles that are sure to enhance any meal or celebration:

  • Red Barn Blend: If this wine is still available, grab it—end of story. This refreshing red blend is composed of 55% Sangiovese, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Sirah, and 5% Tempranillo, offering bright cherry notes and impressive balance. It’s an easy crowd-pleaser and a true favorite.
  • Vermentino: A go-to wine for virtually any occasion, this Vermentino bursts with notes of passion fruit, guava, jackfruit, and hints of grapefruit. It also earned a Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Ideal with seafood or fennel, this is a crisp, drinkable wine you’ll enjoy year-round.
  • Rosé (All Day): As the name suggests, this is a wine you’ll want to keep open—and flowing. Backed by accolades, including Double Gold at the San Francisco Wine Competition, this rosé features flavors of strawberry, watermelon, and peach. Like the Vermentino, it shines in every season and pairs beautifully with holiday staples such as turkey, ham, or chicken.
