Walnut Creek, CA – Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10) announced today that he will host his first town hall of the year on Tuesday, January 13th at 12:00 p.m. PT over Zoom to discuss the news of the day, ranging from President Trump’s pursuit of an unconstitutional oil war in Venezuela to rising health care costs and more. He will also take questions from constituents.

- Jan 8 – I voted today to lower health care costs here in CA-10 and across the country. Higher insurance premiums will impact blue, red, and independent voters and, while I wish it were more, I am glad a handful of Republicans put their constituents first and joined with House Democrats to extend ACA credits to protect the care of millions of Americans. Now it’s the Senate’s turn.
- Jan 7 – Many workers across the country are struggling to pay their bills and meet basic needs, let alone save for retirement. At today’s Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions Subcommittee hearing, I outlined the dire need to fix the inequities that allow some Americans to save for retirement while many more are left living paycheck to paycheck.
- Jan 7 – It’s been one year since the devastating fires in Los Angeles. When I visited the Pacific Palisades last fall, I saw the destruction firsthand and met with the first responders who saved lives. Today I joined other members of the California delegation to mark this solemn anniversary and call on the Administration to fully fund the recovery efforts with no strings attached. Federal disaster aid should never be tied to politics.
- Jan 7 – ICYMI: The Trump Admin is attempting to freeze billions of dollars in funding for child care and social services. Playing politics with the lives of children is a new level of depravity for the Trump Administration. I call on my Republican colleagues in the House to denounce, investigate, and hold hearings on this cruel, anti-American, and illegal Executive overreach. (see story)
- Jan 7 – A masked ICE agent just shot and killed an unarmed woman in Minneapolis while she was trying to drive away from them. This was not an act of self-defense. The perpetrator needs to be investigated and held accountable.
- Jan 6 – On this solemn anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, I spoke on the House Floor in recognition of the immense damage done that day – to the law enforcement officers who were injured, in the more than $2 million of damages sustained to the Capitol building and paid for by the American taxpayers, and in the trampling of our democracy. Today, we commemorate January 6th so that our country never repeats it.
