PLEASANT HILL, Calif. — Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) will host its Spring Job Fair on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Middle School from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. As schools continue to face a nationwide educator shortage, school districts and charter schools are seeking both experienced educators and new graduates to fill a range of teaching and administrator positions.
Job opportunities include full-time teaching roles, certificated support positions, higher education openings, PreK roles, and substitute assignments. Districts, CCCOE, and charter schools are offering competitive compensation and benefits. Some districts are partnering with universities to help candidates with credential costs. Several hard-to-fill areas, including special education, math, science, and dual language, may offer bonus incentives. During this hiring season, some districts are also offering special bonuses to recruit alumni. Attendees are encouraged to bring printed resumes and dress professionally for onsite interviews.
“Our Spring Job Fair is an important opportunity to connect talented educators with the schools and students who need them most,” Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools Lynn Mackey said. “As districts continue to navigate staffing shortages, this event provides a welcoming, in‑person setting for job seekers to explore multiple pathways into education and learn about the supports available to help them succeed.”
Representatives from 18 school districts and charter schools will conduct interviews for positions available now and for the 2026–27 school year. University and college representatives will also be on site to share information about credential programs for individuals interested in continuing their education.
Those interested in attending the Job Fair can fill out an interest form. For additional details about this free event, contact Morgan Broshar at (925) 942-3489.

About Contra Costa County Office of Education
One of 58 counties in California, Contra Costa County has the 11th largest public-school student population in the state (approximately 169,261 students). Officially established in 1932, CCCOE has a long history of providing direct services to some of the county’s most vulnerable students, including young people who are incarcerated, homeless, or in foster care, as well as students who have severe physical or emotional challenges.
CCCOE also provides support services to schools and school districts in Contra Costa County; services that can be handled most effectively and economically on a regional basis rather than by each of the county’s 287 schools or 18 school districts. These services range from budget approval and fiscal support to technology infrastructure, communication support, and high-level professional development opportunities for educators. CCCOE maintains a website at www.cocoschools.org.
