After rumblings online that the Raley’s on Lone Tree Way in the City of Antioch will be closing, corporate confirmed the closure on Saturday.

Here is the statement:

The Raley’s leadership team has made the difficult decision to close our Antioch store on Lone Tree Way. We have been proud to serve the community at this location since 1979.

With the lease up for renewal and after careful review of the store’s performance and economic factors, we have chosen not to extend the lease. The store will close at the end of April.

We are committed to supporting our team members through this transition and will work to place as many as possible at other Raley’s locations.

We want to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years. While this location will close, we look forward to continuing to serve our customers at nearby locations and throughout our family of stores.

Best,

CAROL BARSOTTI
CHIEF COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Over the past several years, the property management team has been to several city council meetings asking for help with blight, crime, and other issues within the area–even extending into the Methadone Clinic across the street. The shopping center, 15.5 acres, is currently listed for sale at a cost of $17.5 million.

Editors Note: a resident reached out Wednesday after speaking to corporate confirming the closure. The resident said she was told the closure was due to the lease not being renewed due to the economics, crime and having to hire security, blight, and other issues with the area. Corporate finally responded to inquiries of the closure Saturday morning with this publication.
