Two Suspects Arrested in Attempted Bank Robbery in Lafayette

The Lafayette Police Department says two people were arrested for an attempted robbery in the City of Lafayette.

According to police, on Tuesday around 1:00 pm, Lafayette PD Officers heard on the radio that the Sheriff’s Office Deputies were investigating a robbery that happened near the City of Lafayette. At about 1:18 pm, LPD Officers located the suspect vehicle on Dewing Ave during an attempted robbery of a person in the 3600 block of Mt. Diablo Blvd.

The suspect vehicle fled, and officers located it a few minutes later, parked and unoccupied, off of Lafayette Circle. Officers canvassed the area and located both suspects on foot near East St. and Brook St. The suspects were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. There are no other suspects outstanding.

Police did not release any suspect data on the arrest, but said more details would be released later in the week. Police also did not release locations of where the attempted robbery occurred.
