2nd Annual Girls Empowerment Camp Registration Opens April 1

The Contra Costa Fire Foundation and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District announces registration for its Girls Empowerment Camp will open April 1, 2026.

Girls Empowerment Camp (GEC) is a free 2-day camp for teens ages 14-18.* GEC introduces them to the fire service and provides campers with a realistic, hands-on overview of firefighting and exposure to all aspects of public safety career opportunities in the fire service. Additionally, the program empowers campers with life skills and professional guidance that encourages them to pursue a career in public safety.

The camp is held at the Contra Costa Fire Training Center which will feature:

  • Hands-on training with firefighting tools and equipment
  • 360-degree exposure to public safety career options
  • CPR/AED training
  • Drawstring backpack and T-shirt
  • Lunch is provided each day
  • Campers must attend both days.
  • All campers must show up on time and stay for the duration of the day.
  • Registration is required.
  • GEC is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. It is not an overnight camp.
