“2025 was a transformative year for Walnut Creek,” said Mayor Kevin Wilk. “We made real progress across our priorities while continuing to deliver the high-quality services our community expects.”
Key Highlights from the 2025 Year in Review include:
- Improved Public Safety: Overall crime decreased by 20%, with both violent and property crimes declining through proactive policing and community partnerships.
- Strong Economic Momentum: The City welcomed 511 new businesses and saw continued activity in its vibrant downtown.
- Major Community Investments: Measure O funding supported critical projects, including progress on the new Aquatic and Community Center at Heather Farm Park and upgrades to parks, libraries, and public safety services.
- Infrastructure Improvements: The City invested $20.8 million in streets, storm drains, public facilities, and mobility enhancements.
- Financial Strength: Walnut Creek earned a top-tier AAA credit rating from S&P, reflecting strong fiscal management and a stable economic outlook.
The report also highlights the City’s continued leadership in sustainability, expanded arts and recreation programming, and efforts to address housing needs and evolving economic conditions.
