Harvest Time in Brentwood announced Thursday that cherries have finally arrived for cherry U-pick season at local farms.
This weekend, a handful of Cherry orchards are opening to combine with opportunities with strawberries and mulberries. Cherry season will be approximently 2-months and according to Harvest Time.
Current variety available:
- Royal Tioga: Usually the first to welcome pickers, this classic red cherry is prized for its size.
Next Varieties to Expect:

- Royal Hazel
- Black Pearl
- Brooks
- Tulare
How? It’s all about variety. Our local farming families, some rooted here for over a century, have thoughtfully planted dozens of cherry varieties that ripen in stages, one after another, week after week. By the time one variety reaches its peak, another is just beginning.
Every variety has its own personality. Some are bright and firm with a crisp, snappy bite. Others are tender and rich with a deep, berry-citrus note. Some lean sweet, others offer a subtle tang. There is no best cherry, only the one that is perfect for you.
