One person is dead after being struck by a train Tuesday morning in the City of Oakley according to authorities.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 am when Oakley Police and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were dispatched to Main Street and 3rd Street on a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a train. Upon searching for the victim, the unidentified person was located behind Ace Hardware on the train tracks.
The person was deceased. Police could not confirm if the person was unhoused or not.
No other information was requested.
