Sabbatical Distillery announced its Double Oaked Whiskey has officially been awarded a Gold Medal at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).
The SFWSC is considered to be the most influential and prestigious spirits competition in the world with over 4,000 entries reviewed in a blind-tasting process conducted by a panel of spirits-industry experts. A Gold Medal signifies a spirit that is near the pinnacle of achievement in its category, setting the standard for all others of its type.
According to Sabbatical, for this unique style, they flipped the script on the traditional double oak process to discover something new. Over time the whiskey spoke for itself and we launched the new way to Double Oak! It is an honor to now be validated by the industry’s top experts and earn a Gold Medal in San Francisco.

- Aroma: Warm vanilla, baked caramel, toasted oak, light baking spice, and subtle dried fruit.
- Palate: Creamy caramel and butterscotch up front, deep toffee and dark chocolate mid-palate, with toasted oak, nutmeg, and baking spice accents.
