The Benicia Police Department announced the arrest of a Pittsburg man in connection with an armed robbery.
According to police, on June 16th a business in Benicia was robbed at gunpoint and the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle later reported as stolen. Using ALPR (Flock), our officers were able to locate the vehicle which had been abandoned in a neighborhood in Benicia. The suspects were unable to be located.
Over the past few weeks, Benicia Police Investigations Unit has been processing evidence collected from the vehicle and from security video. Detectives were able to identify one of the suspects, a 21 year old male from Pittsburg, and obtain a warrant for his arrest.
On July 13th, with the assistance of the Pittsburg Police Department, the suspect was located and taken into custody and was transported to the Solano County Jail by a BPD detective.
According to the Benicia Citizen Rims, the suspect arrested was identified as Rochad Amod Mahmood
