On Monday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to The Brother Sister restaurant in the City of Martinez for a report of a fire.
The fire was first reported just before 8:00 pm in the 1500 block of Pacheco Blvd when multiple callers reported black smoke coming from the restaurant. While responding, due to amount of callers, the fire was upgraded to a working fire. Fire crews arrived on scene noting the restaurant was closed and filled with smoke. They made entry and by 8:10 pm the main body of the fire was knocked down and by 8:16 pm, the fire was deemed out.
The restaurant issued the following statement:
As the news quickly spreads that our restaurant suffered a devastating fire tonight, we want to assure the community that everyone is safe. Our amazing neighbors acted quickly to call the fire department which prevented a much larger disaster. Although there was already significant damage caused by the fire, the water and additional mitigation. We appreciate the quick, professional and empathetic work of Contra Costa Fire. Thank you for your texts, calls and personal visits in the first hours of this nightmare. As you can imagine, we will be closed indefinitely. We appreciate your support through the years. We have strived to provide a family friendly establishment owned and operated by family. We will post updates as necessary.

Contra Costa County Fire has not released any information on the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause was not yet known Monday.
