The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is investigating a fire that destroyed a hair salon in downtown Antioch on Sunday.
The fire occurred around 5:00 am Sunday morning on G St near 2nd St at The Shop, Eleganti Beauty where an exterior fire behind the building made its way inside and destroyed a portion of the business—including the back walls, ceiling, bathroom and tools inside – the front door also needs to be replaced.
CONFIRE confirmed Monday that arson is suspected. Photographs provided by the owner show a man on a bicycle in the area shortly before the fire started around 4:49 am.
According to the owner, LaLa, it could be 6-12 months before they reopen at the same location, however, she is now looking for a new location.

It became the home of Eleganti, where I’ve had the privilege of caring for clients, educating future beauty professionals, mentoring young girls through my youth hair classes, and creating a space where people felt seen, valued, and confident.
Now, we’re facing the heartbreaking reality of rebuilding.
