On August 7, the City of Suisun City announced a cyberattack had disrupted emergency services and the council declared a State of Emergency.

Aug. 7, 2026 – Initial 8 p.m. Update
The City of Suisun City is currently experiencing a cybersecurity incident that has impacted services at City Hall and public safety departments. Suisun City dispatchers are taking calls for service through the Solano County dispatch center. Suisun City police officers and firefighters will continue responding to calls for service. Many online systems and internal operations are temporarily unavailable as we work with cybersecurity experts to investigate and restore full functionality. We will provide an update in the next 24 hours.
Aug. 8, 2026 – 12:30 p.m. Update
During a Special Meeting held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 8, Suisun City Council declared a State of Emergency after malicious software infected and compromised IT systems at roughly 5:45 a.m. on Aug. 7. This declaration, pursuant to Government Code 8630, allows the City to quickly access emergency support services and to recoup costs incurred as a result of the cybersecurity incident.
The cybersecurity incident hit critical public safety operations, including 911 routing, police and fire dispatch, records and City services. To contain the threat and preserve evidence for a federal investigation, the City shut down its entire IT network. The City swiftly activated its Emergency Operations Center and is working alongside federal, state and regional agencies, including the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and California Office of Emergency Services to maintain emergency services, investigate the incident and restore systems.
There is no imminent threat to the public. All public safety services remain active. Suisun City dispatchers are continuing to take calls through the Solano County dispatch center, and Suisun City PD and Fire continue to respond to calls for service. Online City services and internal operations remain temporarily unavailable. The cybersecurity incident is currently under investigation.
