On Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors recognized Harvest Time in Brentwood.
According to Supervisor Diane Burgis:
For 50 years, Harvest Time has championed the agricultural richness of Brentwood and East Contra Costa County. Founded to protect and promote the region’s farming heritage, the organization has grown into a vital connector between local growers and the thousands of visitors who journey here each season in search of fresh, farm‑grown produce and authentic agritourism experiences.
Member farms welcome families, food lovers, and visitors of all ages to experience hands-on agritourism—from picking seasonal cherries and strawberries to exploring country stores, roadside stands, and local wineries. With its emphasis on freshness, family fun, and authentic farm experiences, Harvest Time invites visitors to taste the difference that comes from getting produce straight from the source.
Harvest Time extends its gratitude to those who shop local, explore the farms, and help preserve Brentwood’s agricultural landscape for future generations.

The Board of Supervisors commemorated the 50th anniversary of Harvest Time, a non-profit organization in Brentwood that has connected families and visitors to u-pick farms, gaining global recognition as the U-Pick Capital of the World. Their work has helped Brentwood’s u-pick season draw 600,000 visitors annually while keeping multigenerational farming families rooted in the region for generations to come.
