Hercules Police Department Appoint Chris Kim to Commander

The City of Hercules announced the appointment of Chris Kim as  Police Commander which was effective January 1, 2023. Chris was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Texas with his mother and older sister when he was eight years old.

Chris was hired as Police Officer Trainee on December 3, 2007, and was sponsored through the Evergreen Police Academy in San Jose. Chris has worked in several assignments including Corporal, Field Training Officer, Field Training Officer Supervisor, POA President, and Patrol Sergeant for the last five years. Chris attended the California Coast University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently working towards a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.

Chris will be assigned to the Administrative Commander position and oversee Investigations and Records personnel. Congratulations to Commander Chris Kim, and we look forward to working with him in his new leadership position.
