San Pablo Police Seek Public’s Help in 2020 Homicide Case

On Monday, San Pablo Police released a video seeking help in identifying the suspect in the June 12, 2020 fatal shooting of 27-year-old Shawn Tillis.

The California Governor’s Office is offering a $50,000 reward for any information which would lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

In the nearly 3-minute-long video, police provide information of what they know in the case including surveillance footage, ShotSpotter recording and photographs.

According to police, Tillis parked his vehicle when he was approached by two men and over 30-rounds were fired from an assault rifle and a handgun.  After the shooting, both suspects ran away to a waiting getaway vehicle. The vehicle was identified as a 2015 Volkswagen Passat which was later recovered and identified as being reported stolen from Southern California in 2019.

Police also said they do not have any additional description of the suspects other than their dark clothing depicted in the surveillance video.  The investigation is open and ongoing.
