The Contra Costa Clerk-Recorder’s Office will be hosting a “Destination Weddings” event at the Martinez Cobra Museum on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Sixteen marriage ceremonies will be performed at the museum by Clerk staff between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. Couples may have up to 20 guests to witness their ceremony.

“The Clerk’s office is thrilled to be able to offer a new venue for our Destination Weddings program,” Assistant Clerk-Recorder Elizabeth Gutierrez said. “The Martinez Cobra Museum offers a romantic atmosphere for the ceremony and it also gives couples a beautiful photo opportunity with one of America’s most legendary cars.”

The Martinez Cobra Museum is a hidden gem in Martinez. The Cobra Experience is a non-profit museum committed to the promotion, conservation, education, and preservation of the cars produced by Shelby American, offering one-of-a-kind exhibits.

Because of the event’s popularity, only a few appointments for this Destination Weddings event are available, so couples who are interested should call our office and book their wedding immediately.

A marriage license must be obtained before a ceremony can be performed. Couples must purchase a license before their ceremony appointment at the County Clerk-Recorder’s office in Martinez. The fee for a public marriage license is $86, while a confidential license is $90. The civil marriage ceremony fee is $60.

For information about marriage license and ceremony services, go to www.contracostavote.gov or call the office at 925-335-7900 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
