Pittsburg Says All Parks Closed Until Further Notice

On Thursday, the City of Pittsburg announced all Pittsburg Parks will be closed until further notice.

According to the City:

Effective Thursday, March 9, 2023, all Pittsburg Parks, including dog parks are closed until further notice.

Public safety is always our top priority. Residents should not enter closed parks.

City staff will assess park conditions after the storm has passed to determine when parks will re-open. High winds and saturated ground can cause falling trees and branches, which can cause injury and create safety hazards. When parks are reopened, visitors are encouraged to be mindful of conditions and exercise caution in the parks.

Its unclear if the Pittsburg Police Department will be issuing citations, fines or arrest anyone in a park area.  Recently, the City of Pittsburg extended its local emergency during a special meeting of the City Council on March 6.
