Earthquake Rattles Parts of Contra Costa County

Parts of Contra Costa County were shaking Wednesday morning after an earthquake struck near Isleton.

According to preliminary information, the USGS reported the quake about 9:30 a.m. near Isleton. The quake was then downgraded by USGS to a 4.1

In response, Bay Area Rapid Transit announced that all trains in service have stopped and holding out for mandatory track inspections after a 4.6 magnitude earthquake was detected near Isleton, CA in Sacramento County.

Ironically, this year’s International ShakeOut Day is October 19, when millions of people worldwide will participate in earthquake drills at work, school, or home! At 10:19 am (local time) on 10/19, you can join millions of people across California practicing earthquake safety.
