Brentwood, CA – On December 10, 2023, at approximately 7:20 p.m. Brentwood police officers responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Second Street and Oak Street.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound vehicle on Second Street, driven by a 23-year-old male from Oakland, was traveling at an estimated speed exceeding 60 miles per hour. This vehicle collided with a second vehicle lawfully passing through the intersection. The impact of the collision subsequently involved a third vehicle.

Three vehicles sustained damage in the incident. The driver of the first vehicle and three occupants of the second vehicle were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Based on evidence at the scene, officers suspected the driver of the first vehicle was driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was subsequently arrested and booked into county jail for DUI charges.

The intersection of Second Street and Oak Street was closed for approximately one hour to allow for accident investigation and scene clearance.

The Brentwood Police Department continues to investigate the incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision is encouraged to contact Officer Hayes at (925) 634-6911.
