Firefighters Battle Overnight 50-Acre Vegetation Fire in Pittsburg

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District battled an overnight vegetation fire in the City of Pittsburg.

The vegetation fire was first reproted around 1:50 am Friday where a 2-alarm response was requested as the fire was wind-driven. CALFIRE also responded to the area near Baily Road in Bay Point. Crews were using hose-lays to tie in to fuel breaks near homes on multiple flanks of the fire The incident shut down Bailey Road between the City of Concord and Bay Point.

By 5:22 am, CONFIRE reported the fire was out. Bailey Road was open Friday morning.

According to CONFIRE, the fire was contained to 50 acres with no structures involved.
