Jan 24: Brentwood Police to Host Town Hall Meeting

The Brentwood Police Department is hosting a community Town Hall Meeting on January 24, 2024 and members of the community are invited.

The Community Town Hall will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Community Center located at 35 Oak Street in Brentwood.  Members of the Brentwood Police Department will be providing in person presentations regarding laws, policies and updates regarding the unhoused population (homeless population) in the City of Brentwood.

Editors Note – in June, Contra Costa County released data on its Point in Time Count which showed that 2,372 people were experiencing homelessness across Contra Costa County on that morning in January, which is a 4 percent increase over 2020. Meanwhile, homelessness decreased 6 percent in East County, with Brentwood, Oakley and Pittsburg experiencing major decreases in homelessness. Antioch, however, had an increase of 96.

According to the data, the City of Brentwood went from 80 homeless (2020) down to 37 (2023).
