Vehicle Enters Pond in Pleasant Hill

At 6:55 am Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a vehicle in the water in the 400 block of Ellinwood Way in Pleasant Hill.

It was reported that a vehicle entered the water by Pleasant Hill Police. It was reportedly the vehicle was possibly stolen or an abandoned vehicle as crews mobilized to make access and clear the vehicle of someone possibly inside.

By 7:28 am, the vehicle was deemed unoccupied and removal of the vehicle was underway.

CONFIRE Statement:

According to Contra Costa County Fire, T6, R10, E5, B1 responded to an accident with rescue in Pleasant Hill. On scene, units found a fully submerged vehicle in the center of a pond. T6 crew accessed the vehicle by aerial ladder and searched the vehicle for occupants. The vehicle was determined to be clear and crews remained on scene to assist with removal of the vehicle from the pond.

No other information was released on the incident.
