Feb 19-25: Richmond Police Calls

The following Richmond Police Calls are for February 19-25.  These are the dates and recaps reported by Richmond Police. Police reported 1,959 calls for service with 14 vehicle collisions and 41 arrests.

Below is an overview of significant service activity provided by RPD patrol officers during their scheduled shifts. Please note that activity shared in these segments are provided only as an overview, and do not reflect the entirety of service calls and reports taken throughout each shift.

Richmond Police Calls:

  • 2/19 – ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM/VIOLATION OF PAROLE
    Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of 23rd St & Humphrey and contacted the solo occupant. A records check revealed the driver was on Parole. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun. The suspect was arrested without incident. #1665
  • 2/20 – ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM/VIOLATION OF PAROLE
    Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 500 block of Harbour Way. Officers contacted the two occupants and a records check revealed they were both on Parole. A search of the vehicle revealed a firearm and illegal narcotics. Both occupants were booked at RPD jail, one after being medically cleared prior to being booked. #1701
  • 2/21 – BURGLARY
    Officers responded to the 3400 block of Richmond Pkwy for an unknown person inside the reporting party’s residence. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect sleeping in the victim’s bedroom. The suspect was found to be wearing clothing belonging to the residents. Officers also located several open bottles of alcohol at the residence. The suspect was arrested without incident. #1739
  • 2/22 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
    Officers responded to the 2400 block of Macdonald for a ShotSpotter activation. At the scene, officers located an occupied vehicle that was struck by gunfire. Fortunately, the victim was not injured. Officers also located numerous casing on the roadway. This investigation is ongoing. #1779
  • 2/22 – ROBBERY – KNIFE
    Officers responded to the 2300 block of Clinton Ave for a report of a robbery. Officers learned the suspect brandished a knife at the victim and took possession of the victim’s wallet and cellphone. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival. Officers conducted an area check with negative results. #1790
  • 2/23 – NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM
    Officers responded to the area of 25th St & Barrett Ave for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers found numerous casings at the scene. No victims were located and no property appeared to have been struck by gunfire. #1803
  • 2/23 – MISC. INFORMATION
    Officers responded to the 1500 block of Macdonald Ave for a report of a man down and possible overdose. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive subject in critical condition. Officers quickly administered three doses of Narcan and conducted life saving measures until the subject regained consciousness. The subject was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The subject was found to be in possession illegal narcotics. #1818
  • 2/23, 2/24 – MISCELLANEOUS
    Officers conducted high visibility patrol along the 23rd & 24th St corridor. This resulted in 26 traffic stops, 2 citations and 7 reports.
