The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District will be conducting prescribed fire operations in the region of the Lafayette/ Walnut Creek Shaded Fuel Break Project area beginning May 1, 2024.
Smoke may be visible in the surrounding neighborhoods. Residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed during day-time hours to reduce possible smoke from entering homes.
If weather or air quality conditions are not favorable the project will be rescheduled to a later date.
CONFIRE Hosts Pre-Season Wildfire Preparedness Town Hall Meetings
Please join us for multiple fire safety Town Halls focusing on the unique concerns of Contra Costa County residents.
These in-person events, hosted by Contra Costa Fire, will feature fire service leaders giving a presentation on, “How You Can Be Wildfire Ready!”
In addition to allowing ample time for your questions, we’ll address protecting your home, family, and neighbors from wildfire danger.
