San Ramon School District Hires Cammack as Superintendent

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District announced the appointment of CJ Cammack as its next Superintendent of the school district.

Cammack will be formally approved at the May 14 Board meeting, however, terms have not yet been disclosed to the public. The move comes as Superintendent John Malloy will retire at the end of the year and will begin working with the American Association of School Administrators.

Here is the letter released by the District:

Dear Members of the SRVUSD Community,

I am thrilled to announce that the Board has unanimously decided to appoint CJ Cammack as the next Superintendent of San Ramon Valley Unified School District. His appointment will be formally approved at the Board of Education meeting on May 14, 2024, and will be effective July 1, 2024.

Currently, Mr. Cammack is the Superintendent of Fremont Unified School District, where he has been instrumental in establishing wellness centers at all secondary schools and increasing the number of counselors at every school site. He is known for working collaboratively with staff, students, and the community to create exceptional learning opportunities.

Highly respected by educators throughout California, Mr. Cammack was recently selected as Superintendent of the Year (for Region 6) by the Association of California School Administrators.

Mr. Cammack is a great choice for SRVUSD. The Board of Education was impressed by his vision for strengthening the student learning experience.  We appreciate his leadership experience in multiple districts, including here at SRVUSD as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

Most importantly, we believe that he will take our Strategic Directions and our Learner Profile to the next level, which is very important to our Board and our community.

SRVUSD is exemplary in so many ways, especially because of our engaged community. We thank everyone who participated in the Superintendent search process leading to this very important appointment.

Please join me in giving Mr. Cammack a warm welcome to SRVUSD.

With great respect,

Laura Bratt
President
SRVUSD Board of Education
