Just before 11:00 am Friday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District revived a report of a vegetation in unincorporated Brentwood.
According to initial reports, the fire in the 100 block of Albers Ct off Deer Valley Road an was estimated at a 1/2 acre in size. The fire was also bumping up against a home as crews were still responding to the scene–fire crews also reported a large column of smoke.
By 11:09 am, upon arrival, fire crews determined an immediate threat to a home and requested fire crews to assist in preventing the home from catching fire. The fire was estimated at 2-acres with a chance at significant acreage. A second-alarm fire response was requested.
11:40 am UPDATE: fire estimated at 4-acres per CALFIRE
12:00 pm UPDATE: 50 acres at 80% containment
