Suspected DUI Driver Arrested in Oakley After Hitting a House

A female was arrested for suspected DUI and drugs Sunday morning by Oakley Police after a vehicle crash.

Just before 5:00 am Sunday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had hit a house after failing to navigate a curve in the 1300 block of Yosemite Cir in the City of Oakley. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle that had struck a home, two parked vehicles and a tree, but was not into the home as described.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and AMR also arrived on scene, however, no injuries were reported and there was no damage to a home.

A resident later confirmed the vehicle did strike the home, however, she backed up before police arrived.

According to police, the female was picking up her husband who had been playing poker all night when she could not handle the curve in the neighborhood and ended up in the yard of a home after striking two parked vehicles. They confirmed her blood-alcohol the blew nearly double the legal limit but did not provide the results. Police also located what drugs in the center console–believed to be cocaine or methamphetamine.

The female, out of the City of Brentwood, was placed under arrest and was to be booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.

No other information was released on the DUI.
