Update: Antioch Police Say Arrest Made in Habit Burger Assault

by CC News

The Antioch Police Department announced Monday that an arrest has been made in a November 12 assault at the Habit Burger in the City of Antioch.  The suspect was identified as Isaac White-Carter, 20 of Hayward.

The attack left Bianca Palomera without a right eye according to relatives after a man attacked her as she attempted to kick a man out for bullying a special needs child. The man made threats and then physically assaulted her—this prompted the family to start a GoFundMe page.

UPDATE via Antioch Police Press Conference

On November 12, 2022, at approximately 5:25 pm, the Antioch Police Department Dispatch Center began receiving calls of an assault that occurred at The Habit Burger Grill located at 2430 Mahogany Way in Antioch. Officers learned an employee was punched in the face multiple times after protecting an individual with an intellectual disability from being bullied. The victim lost her right eye because of the incident.
Our Investigations Bureau worked tirelessly to identify and locate the suspect over the last several weeks. Through that ongoing investigation, Isaac White-Carter, a 20-year-old resident of Hayward, was identified as the assailant. Antioch Police Department Special Operations Unit detectives worked in collaboration with the United States Marshalls Service (USMS) to locate
Mr. White-Carter. USMS Agents with the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Taskforce arrested White-Carter in Hayward, California, this morning and turned him over to Antioch Police detectives. He has been arrested for the felony charges of mayhem and aggravated assault causing great bodily injury. Detectives will be presenting their case to the Contra Costa
County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
We want to thank the Contra County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marshalls Service, and members of the community who came forward to assist with this investigation.
The members of the Antioch Police Department express their support and gratitude to the victim for helping a community member in need.

We’re asking everyone in the ANTIOCH AREA and surrounding areas to help bring justice!.

My sister was brutally attacked on Saturday November 12th at around 5:00 p.m. m. at 5:30 p.m. m. at The Habit Burger Grill in Antioch off Mahogany Way and Sycamore Avenue for a male possibly between the ages of 16 and 21. We hope someone can identify the attacker or one of the people who accompanied him.

The physical altercation occurred after my sister witnessed a man and (3) others harass a special needs child in the restaurant lobby. When she asked the man to stop harassing the child and to leave the establishment. The man proceeded to make threats and ended up physically assaulting her and then proceeded to flee in a gray BMW SUV with (3) other people.

As a result of the attack, she was urgently moved to a nearby trauma center where she underwent emergency surgery. Unfortunately, he suffered irreversible injuries that cost him losing his right eye entirely. Hopefully he is now in stable condition.

We are currently requesting for the public’s help in identifying the following people of interest. Videos are attached below and we ask that they are shared among the community to see if anyone can recognize any of the people. If you have any advice in this case, see the following vehicle or persons of interest, consider them dangerous and contact the Antioch Police Department at 925-779-6900 or contact me directly. P A S ! We need justice for my sister.

It’s barbaric that not only a man puts his hands on a woman. But to the extent it was and the amount of damage it caused. She was just trying to do the right thing and keep a special needs person from being bullied.

We want to thank you in advance and ask you to stand in our skin and do justice for her.

Thank you!’
