At 2:23 pm Sunday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a female who was injured after jumping out of a moving vehicle.
According to preliminary information, the female jumped out while on State Route 4 near Bixler in the Town of Discovery Bay. The injuries included head, chest and arm and when AMR arrived on scene they confirmed the medical helicopter to continue.
The incident shut down a portion of State Route 4 so they could land the medical helicopter at the scene.
No word on why the female jumped from the moving vehicle.
UPDATE
Per CHP, this was a 13 y/o suffering from a mental health crisis. No other information provided.
