Female in Custody After Killing Husband Tuesday Morning

The Brentwood Police Department took a female into custody for allegedly killing her husband Tuesday morning in the City of Brentwood.

At approximently 11:30 am, police responded to a home on MacArthur after a female stated she killed her husband. Police offered no details other than it was a “domestic” in nature but released no information. Police cautioned off the roadway and were waiting on police investigators to take over the scene.

There was also unconfirmed reports that a juvenile was in the home at the time of the incident in which he was barricaded prior to police arrival. Per a neighbor, it was stated a female in custody and was described as “elderly” and “grandma”.

BPD Update: HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

BRENTWOOD, CA- On Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 around 10:15a.m., Brentwood officers responded to the 300 block of MacArthur Way for a welfare check for an adult male and adult female at a residence.
When officer’s arrived they made contact at the residence with an adult female, and there was evidence indicating a potential violent crime had just occurred. Officers quickly detained the female and upon searching the residence located a deceased adult male who had sustained several stab wounds. There were no other victims inside the residence or on scene.
The female suspect and male victim are in a marital relationship and live at the residence. We are not releasing the names at this time until next of kin has been notified.
The female is in police custody and there is no known threat to public safety. This appears to be an isolated incident.

This incident comes after a July 14 shooting where police arrested  Antonio Barajas, 20 of Walnut Creek, who was booked on multiple charges. Police say Barajas is the surviving suspect in the robbery attempt that turned into a shoot out on Marjoram Drive and he was booked into the Maritnez Detention Facility on Saturday morning.  During the shooting, a 17-year-old Antioch resident was killed as he and Barajas attempted to rob a 21-year-old Antioch man.
