According to the county, here is the email that went out:

With Measure X funds, the Probation Department, through its Office of Reentry & Justice, is looking to hear from county residents, including YOUNG PEOPLE, to better understand community needs and priorities for exploring opportunities to introduce restorative practices within our local systems and communities.

Editors Note: Last week, this “secret RFP” was released, then pulled when questions were asked of it:

Restorative Justice Program

Contra Costa District Attorney’s Secret Plan Not to Prosecute

In what is being dubbed a “Secret RFP”, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office is set to move many more criminals into a Restorative Justice Program (RJD) before any charges are filed or potential jail time imposed.

Crimes eligible for the restorative justice program for adults ages 18-25, defined as “transitional age youth” would include child molestation, human sex trafficking, burglaries, organized retail theft, robberies, assaults, arsons, teen dating violence, sexual assault, and car theft and carjackings–murders and rapes are the only crimes excluded. The Request for Proposal (RFP-page 12) even calls these crimes” ideal pre-charge RJD cases”.

According to several sources within the District Attorney’s Office, they were horrified by the RFP release on October 10 and called it a “dangerous program” that would severely impact women in the county who could be sexually assaulted, or any teen, who go on a date and are the victim of a sexual assault. — Full Story

Perhaps the Probation Department should start by defining what SPECIFICALLY it even means by “restorative justice.” It is more of a slogan than a phrase with any accepted definition. The Department should then educate itself on how to properly conduct a statistically meaningful survey. Doesn’t sound like they get it.

What I’ve found over the years is that anything left of the aisle tends to do the exact opposite of the title, hell even on the right. Patriot Act made us all criminals in the eye of the government- to be monitored and surveilled. Inflation Reduction Act did the opposite. Affordable Care Act? Hah! Not anymore. What I’m paying this year to next is going up 118%. Restorative Justice- It doesn’t restore justice, it actually takes justice away from the person who was the victim. Victims deserve actual justice, not to be drug through the legal process of having to sit down with the person, who committed the crime against them, etc..

But then we ought to come to expect this behavior from a globalist “Open Borders Foundation” plant.

All these liberal programs are a waste of money. Lock up criminals. Period! Consequences of actions. The bay area is lawless and the corrupt DAs and weak judges have empowered criminals. Revoke prop 47?and get back to make crime criminal again and lock these people up.

I took the survey and am utterly disgusted. George Soros is alive and well in Contra Costa County with his LITERALLY bought and paid for DA Becton. Absolutely ZERO accountability at all levels for criminal activity and poor behavior. Kissing off some really bad crimes as “non-violent”. Re-victimizing victims of crime. People who voted for the people behind this should be ashamed and embarrassed. I took particular offense when the questionnaire asked about legal or law enforcement affiliations (i.e. your opinions don’t matter regardless of firsthand experience of how this is wrong).

This survey and proposal are COMPLETE B***S**T! IMHO, this will actually make it much worse for the perpetrator, victim and system at large.
