Dec 8-17: El Campanil: Black Diamond Ballet’s Nutcracker

Black Diamond Ballet returns for their 11th Annual Nutcracker. Under the direction of Pittsburg native, Sharon Sobel Idul, the production features professional ballet dancers from all over the Bay Area and a student cast of over 40. New and exciting choreography, costumes, and cultural dances that will dazzle and captivate all of East County. Celebrate the holidays with this timeless classic. Dec 9: Pittsburg Holiday Parade

The 2023 Pittsburg Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in Old Town Pittsburg. The annual Holiday Parade will once again feature Peppermint Playland, various dignitaries and elected officials from the City of Pittsburg and our local community. For more information, click here

Dec 9: Toy Drive with Antioch Police at Disney House

Join the Antioch Police Department on December 9th, from 5:30- 10:00 pm, take a drive by  the “Disney House” at 3732 Colonial Court in Antioch. This spectacular house has over 35,000 lights. The Vistalli Family and friends will be on-hand collecting new unwrapped toys as well as new blankets, gloves, socks, hats and scarves and cash or Venmo donations, that will be donated to our Help for the Holidays Event which will provide extra help for those struggling this holiday season. Thank you to the Vistalli Family for their continued help to bring some joy to the families in our community. We couldn’t do it without you


Dec 9: 47th Annual Holiday Run for Health (Antioch)

We are very excited to bring back the Kiwanis Holiday run at Contra Loma Regional Park (1200 Fredrickson Lane, Antioch). This year will be the 47th running of this event. We have partnered with Rotary Club of the Delta to make sure we bring a high-quality event. We have worked to provide a better course, and lots of medals. We also hope our school’s challenge will be bigger than ever. There will be a medal to the top five runners in every age category, as well as cash prizes and trophies to our top three High school, middle school, and elementary schools.

Many people have put a lot of work together to make this event happen, none more important than former race director Paul Schorr. This summer, Paul passed away but not before teaching all of us about every task needed for a great event.

Dec 9: Holiday Craft Fair (Antioch)

Have fun shopping for Christmas or just a treat for yourself ! We will have over 50 vendors with one of a kind items as well as independent sales reps and food trucks ! Support small local business ! Dec 9 –  Chabad of Concord to Host Hanukkah Menorah Lighting Event

Concord, California — This Hanukkah, Concord’s seeing a surge in families’ public displays of the holiday and Jewish identity, with many more individuals planning to light their menorahs in visible places, such as their doors or windows. Concord’s public Hanukkah gatherings expect a larger than usual crowd this year in a strong statement of Jewish pride and confidence.

Chabad of Concord is organizing a public Hanukkah menorah lighting event with a massive 9-foot menorah at The Veranda, on Sunday, December 10th 4:00 PM. The event will feature an array of entertainment for all ages including a magic show by an award-winning magician Dan Chan music videos, crafts, and more as well as hot chocolate, latkes, and doughnuts.

Downtown Martinez & Co. hosts the annual Santa Beer Crawl on the streets of Martinez. Come join the jolliest bunch of Santas this side of the bay as they walk around the downtown corridor of Martinez, sampling craft breweries stationed participating small businesses along Main Street from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Dec 9: Benicia Christmas Parade and Holiday Market

The Christmas Parade & Holiday Market take over First Street with holiday cheer at 10am. The parade starts at First and D Streets and continues up First Street, ending at H Street. The parade features local marching bands, dancers, and Santa Clause. The Holiday Market features handcrafted and gourmet gift items. Dec 9:  San Joaquin Yacht Club Lighted Boat Parade

Participants: Arrive to SJYC by 4-ish. Santa arrives 4:30pm.
There will be plenty of dock space. Boats leave the dock 5-ish to go around the Island – then back to SJYC for awards.
*OR* can register Friday night 4-9pm.

Route: Parade goes clock-wise around the island, starting at Yacht Club at 5:30pm


Dec 9 – Sweet Pea’s 10th Winter Wonderland (Vacaville)

Sweet Pea’s 10th Anniversary Winter Wonderland Market is being held Saturday, December 9th 10-2 at 891 Alamo Drive in Vacaville. Dec. 9-10: Pleasanton Catstravaganza

Discover a world of feline wonder at our family furr-iendly event to increase the visibility of all cats, with education and awareness for the overwhelming rescue situation. A portion of all proceeds for this event will be donated to helping cats in emergency rescue situations through The Meserve Foundation.

Dec 10: Merry Makers at The Veranda

Tis’ the season to shop and support small. For one month only, take an opportunity to shop local handmade businesses and meet the makers behind the brands. From handmade jewelry, artwork, sewn creations, styled looks, custom pieces and more, it’s the perfect place to shop for that special person or pet on your holiday gift list! Christmas Home tour

Dec 10: 66th Annual Antioch Holiday Home Tour

Join the Antioch Women’s Club for its 66th Annual Christmas House Tour, “Home for Christmas” on December 10 from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The event will benefit local high school scholarships. On the tour, you will visit local homes and businesses – including a reception at the VFW Post 6435 (815 Fulton Shipyard). Tickets are $35 per person which includes the tour, light hors d’oeuvres, dessert table, champagne punch, coffee and a candy bar.

Tickets are available at Willow Park Mercantile (205 G St) the Rivertown Treasure Chest (306 G St) and American Trophies Awards & Engraving (516 3rd Street). Note – you must have a ticket to attend.

Dec 10: Clayton Historical Society Annual Christmas Homes Tour

Tickets $35 per person if purchased before 12/9/23; $40 day of tour. The self-guided tour includes beautifully decorated homes in the Clayton area. The Tour begins at the Clayton Historical Society Museum at 6101 Main Street, Clayton. Allow 2 hours to tour all homes. Doors to homes will close at 5:00 pm. Children welcome with parent and separate ticket. Purchase tickets online, or at the Museum during museum hours. Tickets will not be mailed to you. The Christmas Homes Tour is a major fundraiser for the Clayton Historical Society. All proceeds benefit The Clayton Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) organization. Dec 14 – Brentwood Santa Crawl

They say you should dress for the job you WANT. Whelp, as far as we are concerned Santa may have the dream job. Join us for a festive evening in Downtown Brentwood at Santa Crawl, presented by Erickson Realty Group and Dress in your Holiday Best!

The Downtown Brentwood Coalition is a nonprofit made up for small businesses, nonprofit partners and service organizations. We love bringing the community together in downtown and we’d love your support for this fun night out!

There is a place that has not been mentioned in the News or on Facebook which is… If people want to see beautiful Christmas Light-shows, they should drive into the hills behind John Muir Hospital, where every house is made up and lit up. Bring Cameras, drive slow, park somewhere and take your time walking thru. It’s breath-taking!!
