Five people were injured overnight after their vehicle struck a wall on Bailey Road in Bay Point while being pursued by CHP.
CHP said they originally were attempting to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop for speeding, however, the vehicle fled, which they believe was coming from a sideshow.
Sgt. Nelson Fulgencio explained, “it started out as a traffic stop for speed, fled from officers from Somersville to westbound Highway 4 and as we pursued the vehicle, the vehicle exited onto Bailey attempting to go southbound. It took the exit route too fast and crashed into a wall underneath Highway 4.”
Fulgencio said they took into custody the driver and four other occupants of the vehicle who were coming from the “Antioch area” who could not confirm if the sideshow was either in the City of Antioch or the City of Pittsburg.
After the crash, Fulgencio explained officers who arrived on the crash scene attempted to stabilize the scene, however, additional sideshow vehicles responded to the area and verbally yelled at officers and threw unknown objects at officers.
“It became more hostile until additional neighboring agencies and CHP officers arrived on scene to assist,” said Fulgencio.
No other information was released.

Criminals in co co county have no fear of leo’s . The soro’s da won’t do anything to them.
Not sure why they are even chasing them. The majority of voters in California have mandated lawlessness. Let the sideshows and reckless driving continue with impunity. Like Uncle Gavin likes to say, “California leads the way.”
Let them do their thing. They willl eliminate them selves. Just punks with mommy and daddies. Hi powered cars.
Break the law, evade police, crash your car and your crazy, lawless friends pull up and act like it’s the police’s fault. Only in this crazy mixed up climate we now find ourselves. Good work LE. I appreciate your hard work and the sacrifices you make everyday.
Anyone see the evidence of a sideshow at Deer Valley and Davison in Antioch? Plenty of tire marks throughout the entire intersection, definitely more than a single car. Additionally there are a number of pieces of a blown tire West bound on Davison. Unimaginable that at least one Antioch patrol car couldn’t get to the scene. Our streets are dangerous. James Donlon is a freeway. Speed, red light runners, stop sign runners street racing every night. Antioch must enlist outside agency help.
thank God for all those new sideshow laws.
don’t worry libs, there are new laws pertaining to sideshows, soon they will be a thing of the past, much like your family’s safety.
