On Friday, CHP-Contra Costa announced an arrest related to illegal street racing within Contra Costa County.

Accoridng to CHP:

Last night, CHP Contra Costa, along with Concord PD and multiple Contra Costa County Agencies, worked together to combat illegal street racing and sideshows in our county. CHP initiated an enforcement stop on this Dodge Challenger and the Dodge immediately fled from our Officers, driving at speeds over 135 miles per hour.

Due to the Dodge’s reckless driving, it lost its front left tire and eventually the front left rim. When the Dodge came to a stop, the driver was arrested for Felony Reckless Evading, Driving Without a License and an outstanding arrest warrant out of Santa Clara County.

The 23 year old male from Oakland was booked into Martinez Detention Facility. The goal of the CHP is to provide safety, service and security to the community we serve.

No other information was released on the incident.
