Update: Contra Costa Sheriff Issues Lockdown in Bay Point

On Saturday, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office issued a lockdown order due to police activity in Bay Point.

According to the sheriffs office, they have no confirmed the incident is regarding an armed barricaded subject.

This is a message from The Contra Costa Office of the Sheriff. There is currently law enforcement activity in Baypoint. People NEAR CHADWICK LANE, LANCASTER CIRCLE, and LANCASTER LANE are advised to LOCKDOWN IN THE NEAREST PLACE OF SAFETY. Go inside, close and lock all windows and doors. Stay off the phone and do not call 911 unless you need to report a life-threatening emergency. To report suspicious activity, contact the Contra Costa Office of the Sheriff at 925-646-2441. Stay indoors until you receive further official instructions.

A suspect is barricaded inside a building and the Sheriffs Office is attempting to negotiate and communicate.

All clear has been given, no details released

1:21 pm UPDATE

This morning, at about 1:32, Muir Station deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the area of Lancaster Circle in Bay Point.  Deputies quickly arrived and located a gunshot victim who was taken to a local hospital.  A perimeter was set up and deputies made announcements for a possible suspect to exit an apartment.

Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Teams responded to the location.  A suspect was later taken into custody and is not being identified at this time.
