On Tuesday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of two unknown subjects in a residents backyard which prompted Dallas Ranch Middle School to briefly be placed on lock down.
According to police, at approximately 9:29am, a homeowner called and stated her 17-year-old daughter was home alone and there were two subjects in their backyard. The homeowner provided dispatch with a description of a male and female.
Antioch Police Officers arrived on scene, and they detained a 27-year-old female matching the description just outside the home. She had a felony warrant for identity theft.
In order to locate the male, an officer deployed the unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) and they located the male walking away on a nearby street. When officers attempted to contact him, he led officers on a lengthy foot pursuit. The male ran through approximately 15 backyards, and he jumped several fences before he ran onto the school grounds of Dallas Ranch Middle School.
Once the male entered the school grounds he was detained without incident.
The 33-year-old male was found to be a convicted felon. Both the male and female were subsequently booked into MDF for burglary related charges.
Although it was rumored the male had a firearm, Sergeant Price Kendall said the male subject did not have a firearm and the school was placed on a brief lockdown once the male entered the school grounds.
The Antioch Unified School District has not released any information on the incident.
